As he approaches a group of fans, he is interrupted by a woman named Taina who says, “I don’t believe it.” He stops and asks: “What don’t you think?”, To which she replies: “Aren’t you my cousin?”

At first the journalist doubts the information, but the girl replies: “Aren’t you Evani’s son?” He agrees and she adds, “So, you’re my cousin.”

Then, Erick cuts off the report and jokes, “Wait a minute, Cris, this is a family affair. Is this serious?” The two then introduce themselves correctly, take a picture together, and Tainá explains how she knows the information.

“Evani is my father’s cousin. I am Brandão [sobrenome]🇧🇷 I went to your mother’s house, I think you were still in Brasilia. I spent a weekend there,” she recounts. Watch the video:

OR Stage contacted Erick to understand the repercussions of this story. According to the reporter, he figured the video had potential, but not that it would go viral that way.

After the coincidence, he and Tainá have exchanged contacts and have already arranged a meeting: “We are also already planning a pizza at home. She and her husband are going, [vão] you know my house and my wife.”

Erick says he hopes to strengthen relationships with his cousin, who is, in fact, a third cousin. “I don’t have many relatives here in Curitiba,” he says. “So I think it’s great for us to be able to strengthen our friendship because of that as well. I know what it’s like to be a foreigner in a land, I spent three years in Brasilia.”

The journalist’s family is originally from Bahia, while Tainá lived in São Paulo before moving to the capital of Paraná. The relatives, of course, were surprised by the situation, but happy with the closeness of the two.
