Christmas chocolate cookies

Time: 1h (+30min of fridge)

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 300 g of cold butter
  • 2 yolks
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 3 cups wheat flour (approximately)

Cream

  • 2 cups powdered sugar (pastry)
  • 4 tablespoons of water (approximately)

Method of preparation:

  1. In a bowl mix the butter, egg yolks, egg, sugar and cocoa to form a paste. Add the flour, a little at a time, until you get a smooth and soft dough.
  2. If necessary, add more flour. Wrap in cling film and leave to rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Open the dough between two sheets of plastic with a rolling pin until it is about 0.5 cm thick.
  3. Cut with star cutters of various sizes. Arrange the doughs in a large pan lined with baking paper, next to each other.
  4. Place in a medium oven (180°C), preheated, for 10 minutes or until firm, without browning. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
  5. For the cream, in a bowl, mix the sugar and water until they form a paste. If necessary, add more water little by little.
  6. To assemble the mini trees, start the base using the larger stars, place a layer of sugar paste and a smaller star.
  7. Repeat the layers of stars, from the largest to the smallest, interspersed with the sugar paste, and the last star must be positioned vertically.
  8. Wrap each tree in a plastic bag, tie it with a ribbon, and give it as a gift.
