Children’s songs composed to delight parents too

The record company invests in music for parents and children to enjoy together

What parent hasn’t felt hostage to a childhood success that almost dictatorially dominates the family soundtrack? And who doesn’t dream of participating in the formation of their children’s musical taste from an early age? Know that there is a record label on the world stage that invests in quality songs to please even the elderly.

Recently, the Platoon label responsible for the success of Billie Eilish invited Saulo Fernandes, Tuyo and Rodrigo Sha to release EPs of children’s songs. The British label’s proposal is to create children’s songs in languages other than English. Thus, the three icons of Brazilian music did not hesitate to accept the invitation and released singles in Portuguese, translating their unique musical styles into lullabies and children’s songs.

The result of this challenge can be heard on digital platforms here🇧🇷 here And here🇧🇷

Saul Fernando

Saulo Fernandes is well known for creating songs to jump to (11 years as frontman of Banda Eva have led to this). Since 2013, alone, he has taken his songs to other countries. And now, with the EP “Pé de Maravilha” he reaches the children’s universe for the first time. In “Pé de Maravilha” he incorporates the playful element into the compositions. “De Novo” brings everything cadenced into the style of the genres that have accompanied his career, since 1996. “Tamanho do Céu”, on the other hand, sounds more like a lullaby actually, with a sweet pause.

Thuio

Lio, Lay Soares and Machado, who form Tuyo, born in Curitiba, have been emerging for some years as protagonists of quality songs in the country. The path has led them to the authorial repertoire, which makes them present a sound in the mix of soul, folk, R´n´B, MPB under preferably electronic arrangements. In “De Música” and “Mais um Dia”, the trio entered the studio to create them and focused on producing something like they were trying to reach a friend’s seven-year-old daughter, Lia (real character), trading guitar beats. .

“The process made us recover the aesthetics of the beginning of the work, when we used more organic elements,” says Lio.

Rodrigo Sha

Rodrigo Sha picked up the guitar again and went to play for his newborn son, Tom. And it was he who approved “Baconé” and “Meu Planeta” while his father was composing. We can already anticipate that “Baconé” brings a sambinha-canção rhythm mixed with MPB, with guitar and accordion upholstery.

“Meu Planeta” favors bass and saxophone (Rodrigo’s main instrument) over sophisticated electronic beats, not forgetting the acoustic guitar that drove Tom’s approval.

“The language I adopted (to create them) was that of purity. But without forgetting to mix simplicity with sophistication in a way that children can capture,” says the artist.
