How much are you willing to pay for a year-end panettone? Imagine that there are people willing to pay 500,000 euros, equal to R$2.8 million.
The delicacy is a true work of art of the Italian chef. Darius Hartwigof the Pasticceria del Borgo, in Piedmont, Italy, which produced it for an Indian millionaire with gold, diamonds and a tiara which, alone, is almost the total value of the product.
The chef produced the super panettone for the first time in 2013, for a Russian millionaire ― who started ordering it regularly at the end of the year. The idea won the hearts of other crazy-loving customers.
With the hype building around the world’s most expensive panettone, the chef has begun producing a more “modest” version, coated in gold leaf and based on crystals. This version costs €150 (about R$840.00).
