Not 2, 3 and not 5…. The record, registered in the Guinness Book, belongs to mother Halima Cisse, who gave birth to 9 children in one pregnancy!
Twin pregnancies naturally arouse the curiosity of many people. Triplets and quadruplets, it doesn’t matter! Now, imagine you come across the birth of nine children during a single pregnancy. It seems impossible, but it is world record registered for trademark Guinness World Record.
On May 4, 2021, Halima Cisse, then 25, gave birth to nine children at the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca, Morocco. The babies were born premature – at 30 weeks of gestation – and by cesarean section. There were five girls and four boys weighing between 500 grams and 1 kilo, according to the publication.
The now famous nonuplets are back home in 🇲🇱 Mali.

The babies were immediately transferred to incubators. They remained in the clinic under special care for several months after giving birth. According to the father, Kader Arby, in an interview with BBC Africa🇧🇷 the first year of life was celebrated on site with a small birthday party, together with the nurses and some people from the building.
Before the family of Cisse, cases of failed marriages had already been recorded all over the world. One occurred in Australia in 1971 and another in Malaysia in 1999. However, none of the children survived more than a few days. Until Halima’s pregnancy, the world record in the category belonged to the American Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to eight children through IVF.
After 19 months, the mother and children returned, last Tuesday (13), safely home – in Mali -, where they continued to receive government support, according to the Minister of Health, Diéminatou Sangara.
The journey of nine times

At the request of the government, she was taken to a specialized clinic in Casablanca.
The mother was admitted to the facility on 30 March 2021, at the 25th week of pregnancy, and remained under observation until the delivery, which was conducted by 10 doctors and 25 paramedics at the 30th weekaccording to BBC🇧🇷 Cissé’s husband stayed in Mali during the period to take care of the couple’s eldest daughter, Souda.
