Did someone call saying they’ll be at your house in five minutes? Calm down, we have the solution.
We all know that due to the busyness of everyday life, the routine of cleaning and organizing the house can get a bit put aside. So what to do with the whole house a mess and a friend calling saying she’ll be there in five minutes?

Remembering to clean small spots in the house that are usually forgotten is always a good idea, but you can also focus on the visit in question and organize optimally the environment so that the person has a good experience in your home. To do this, check out the tips below:
1. Focus on the environment in which visitors will be staying

Instead of worrying about her bedroom or the laundry room, think about the spaces she’ll frequent, like the living room. give an overview, passing a cloth on surfaces and windows in your line of sight – and that includes the main or guest bathroom also. Check the toilets for toilet paper, put a clean filter in the coffee pot (who can resist an afternoon coffee?), and pay attention to where they will touch.
2. Watch out for crumbs (and dust pellets)

Have you ever taken your shoes off at someone’s house and found your sock full of dirt? Well, stop your guests from facing the same problem and use a broom to remove any crumbs and other dirt from the floor, such as dog hair or dust.
3. Camouflage the mess

Here’s a pro tip: If you’re the type who doesn’t have much time to tidy up (even when you’re not dealing with a surprise visitor), invest in storage that doubles as decor, like wicker crates or boxes – and where you can quickly put your clutter away without worrying too much.
4. Hide imperfections

Have you noticed a stain on the sofa or carpet? The concept is the same as in the previous point, turn the sofa cushion upside down, change the arrangement of the furniture on the carpet or, if possible, place a decorative object on top of the stain.
5. Use candles and incense

Does the house have that ‘stored’ smell? Forgot to take out the trash or is the pile of laundry too big? turn on a little candles or incense to perfume the environment and camouflage those little details (that make the difference). Taking advantage: if possible, open the windows to also ventilate the environment.
