Louise Redknapp has split from her boyfriend Drew Michael after two years together, according to The Sun. The singer, 51, and the business leader, 42, had been dating since October 2023.

Redknapp moved on with Michael after her split from Jamie Redknapp in 2017, ending their 19-year marriage. She and Jamie share two children, Charlie, 20, and William, 16.

It was revealed on Monday that the pair had ended their relationship, and Michael is believed to have left the UK, The Sun reported. Despite the split, friends said Redknapp is thriving and has been on girls' trips in Ibiza.

A source told The Sun that Louise and Drew decided to end things a little while ago, and that things had been really good between them but it felt like their relationship had run its course, so they both thought it was best to move on.

The source said it was all very amicable, and although it's never fun when a relationship ends, Louise has thrown herself back into her social life and her busy work schedule. The source added that Drew is thought to have moved abroad for work, making it a clean break. The Daily Mail has contacted Louise's representatives for comment.

Marriage plans discussed last year

The split comes after Redknapp addressed whether wedding bells were on the horizon with her younger boyfriend in an interview last year. She told The Sun that Drew was great and that they were having a lovely time together, adding that it took her a long time to get to a place where she could be open about anything after being very guarded and scared.

Asked directly about wedding plans at the time, she said she wasn't even thinking that far ahead and wasn't going there. She said she just wanted to be proud of the relationship and enjoy it, adding that she had met a really great guy and was really happy, but that you never know what the future holds.

She also said at the time that her two sons got on well with Drew, which made life much easier. Redknapp addressed criticism over their nine-year age gap, saying being branded a "cougar" was water off a duck's back to her and that age was irrelevant since she didn't feel older than him.

Being painted as the 'villain'

In the same period, Redknapp discussed why she was painted as the villain following her split from Jamie. She told the Independent that she was the villain, and that she had been lucky in her career because for many years she didn't have a lot of scrutiny, then suddenly everybody had an opinion.

She said anything that could be perceived as negative was cut out, that nothing she said was right, that defending herself was wrong and not defending herself was also wrong, and that she felt like she was walking up a one-way street with nowhere to go.

New music and 'sex noises'

Redknapp said she is now ready to push out of her comfort zone, including featuring a number of "sex noises" on her new single. She is preparing to release a new album called Confessions and said she is adamant about making progressive music instead of being nostalgic.

She said she doesn't care what people think, despite friends questioning whether there are too many sex noises in her new track Get Into It, which features moans of ecstasy. Speaking about co-writer Jon Shave, who worked on Charli XCX's album Brat, she said she got a text from him asking if there were too many sex noises on the song, and she replied that there could never be too many sex noises. She said she has had a lot of feedback like that, that she understands it, but that she has always kept in her lane and done what people expected, and now she's saying forget it.

Divorce from Jamie Redknapp

Redknapp also discussed her divorce from Jamie on the Happy Place podcast, crediting her two sons for keeping her going during the breakup. She said that if she didn't have her kids, she thinks she would have just given up, and that she knew her kids were her everything and needed her.

She said the public scrutiny of her marriage breakdown made the situation even harder to deal with, adding that she never realised people could be so unkind and say such terrible things, and that it blew her mind. She said she was going through a lot at the time, was trying to be strong for her kids, and believed that whatever had gone on in their life was private, no matter what.

She said she was such a villain and was breaking beyond what she thought was possible for a human to break, all while still trying to be a mum. She said every time she went out and tried to put a brave face on and do things, that was seen as wrong, and if she didn't, that was wrong too. She said she felt like everything she did was so wrong.

Following the split, Jamie found love with Swedish model Frida Andersson, and the pair married in 2021 before having a son together.
