Kuznetsov said people dealing with swelling must monitor their salt intake and consume no more than five grams per day. The doctor emphasized that this daily limit includes both pure salt and hidden salt found in foods such as cheeses and sausages.

He also advised establishing a proper fluid intake routine based on urine color, explaining that dark urine indicates a lack of water. Regarding snacks, Kuznetsov said individuals should control their consumption of berries and fruits to a standard portion of one handful, which can be paired with protein.

Dietary habits and plate composition

To further prevent swelling, Kuznetsov recommended cutting overall caloric intake by choosing lean meat and avoiding mayonnaise or various oils in marinades. He urged people to adopt the Harvard plate method, where fiber occupies 50 percent of the plate, complex carbohydrates make up 25 percent, and protein fills the remaining 25 percent.

In a previous health report, nutritionist Darya Rusakova warned about the dangers of chicken meat. She cautioned that improper preparation of chicken can raise the risk of developing fatal diseases.
