A more beautiful life Will you be back on another channel soon?

Surprisingly, no one saw that coming. This Thursday, February 15, billionaire Xavier Niel presented his new channel project to the Audiovisual and Digital Communications Regulatory Authority (Arcom, ex-CSA).

Dubbed “SIX”, the channel could take over TNT’s channel 6, currently occupied by M6, and thus take the place of a private channel created in 1987. And after revealing the main lines of his project, specifying, for example, that the boxes will be dedicated to cinema on Thursday evenings, and on Friday evenings to music and documentaries, Xavier Niel presented Arcom and the press with a clip showing the DNA of his future channel.

And in this video, which featured celebrities like Yuli or Aya Nakamura, they hid images from France 3’s historical series Plus belle la vie.

The announcement is surprising, to say the least, given that the series was released on November 18 after more than 18 years on air. The series, which ran from 2004 to 2022, could find a second life on this new channel.

Asked by Arcom members about the presence of these images in the channel’s presentation video, Maxime Lombardini, Xavier Niel’s right-hand man, announced his desire to return Plus belle la vie. “We have quite an active exchange with Newen to get “Plus belle la vie” back on the air“, he said.

This is not the first Plus belle la vie rescue project to see the light of day after the end of the series. Last November, 300 actors, technicians, executives and writers announced they had formed a cooperative production company (Scop) to save the series.

They had plans to take back the exploitation rights of Plus belle la vie to create a sequel themselves, which they would then use online on a dedicated platform. The arrival of “SIX” channel may threaten this project.
