The Premier will attend the conference and will have several commitments
India’s Foreign Ministry announced this Monday (27) that the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, will visit the country between March 2 and 3.
According to a statement released by Portfolio, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, and by a delegation made up of representatives of the economic world.
The Italian politician was also confirmed as guest of honor and keynote speaker at the eighth edition of Raisina Dialogue, an important conference held annually in Indian territory.
In addition to being greeted with a welcoming ceremony, Meloni will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss bilateral, regional and global issues.
On March 2, the Italian premier should also meet Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Indian President Draupadi Murmu.
“The visit is expected to strengthen and deepen the long-lasting relations between the countries. The two sides will take stock of the results of the November 2020 summit, enhance cooperation on security and defense, work to establish new economic ties and set the course for the collaboration already underway in the fields of science and technology,” explained the Indian ministry.
India and Italy celebrate in 2023 the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. Meloni will be the third CEO to visit India, after Giuseppe Conte (2017) and Paolo Gentiloni (2018). .
