It’s been over 10 years since Les Frères Scott bowed. And even after all these years, the behind-the-scenes anecdotes of the iconic series still resonate.
On the “Drama Queens” podcast, Hilary Burton (Peyton), Sophia Bush (Brooke) and Bethany Joy Lentz (Haley) reveal information about scenes that were cut, pairings that could have been made on screen or even moments that embarrassed them on set.
A mysterious deleted scene
Last January, a video of the original Scott Brothers pilot went viral on Tik Tok. For the first time, fans got a look at what the show would be like without Hale. And for the last few days, another passage from season 1, cut during editing, has been circulating on social networks.
In this scene from episode 9, we can see Peyton and Hayley at the homeless shelter where Nathan’s future wife is volunteering. The latter wants to introduce his friend to a young girl who reminds him a lot of Peyton, because he thinks they will get along well.
They then open the bedroom door and discover Stella, a rebellious teenager with a passion for drawing like Peyton. If the young woman doesn’t seem too warm to the two friends, Peyton later decides to come back alone and show her his paintings.
Unfortunately, Stella’s character was cut during editing. So it’s unclear what the writers wanted to do with her and Peyton’s relationship. Maybe the three actors will return to this character in future podcasts…
Desperate Housewives star Scott Brothers?
If nobody has seen Stella’s face before, the identity of the actress playing her role is very well known to fans of Desperate Housewives. It’s Andrea Bowen, who played Susan’s (Terry Hatcher) daughter Julie in the series. It’s hard to imagine today that if her character in Les Frères Scott had been preserved, she wouldn’t have starred in Desperate Housewives…
