Goldbeck, Ernestine Hipper) and best original soundtrack (Volker Bertelmann).

Where to watch ‘All Quiet Ahead’

Simple, unless you are one of those who have decided to unsubscribe after the new Netflix conditions, since ‘All Quiet Front’ is available on the Netflix movie catalog from October 28, 2022.

The film presents us with an account of the ordeals and anguish of a young German soldier on the Western Front during World War I.a remake of the 1930 film of the same name, which in its day already marked a milestone by adapting the novel (with which it also shares its name) by Erich Maria Remarque (and which, in turn, ‘All Quiet on the Front’ was based on an incredible novel story burned by the Nazis and sung by Elton John).

Remarque’s book is inspired by his own experiences as a German soldier in the Great War. He stands out for his realistic portrayal of the horrors of battle and the problems soldiers face during and even after combat.

How many Oscars has ‘All Quiet Front’ won?

The good work of Edward Berger, its director, has ensured that this German production has opted for no less than nine Oscars, finally winning in four categories:

    – Best film
    – Best Adapted Screenplay
    – Best International Film – Winner

    – Best Production Design – Winner

    – Best Makeup and Hairdressing
    – Best Photography – Winner

    – Best Special Effects
    – Best Soundtrack – Winner

    – Better Sound

I always want to be challenged and do things I’ve never done before, things that scare me because there’s a chance I’ll fail.“, explains Berger. “That was the case here, of course. I already had it in my head that this could also go wrong, but I consciously look for obstacles that I have to jump over, even if I can break them, just to do my best.”

“It’s a great honor,” he acknowledges about the nominations. “I hope at least this recognition abroad will build self-confidence that something like this can be done, and encourage people to try it.. A film like ‘Lost in Translation’, by Sofia Coppola, could have been made perfectly by a German director in Berlin. All you need is a good script and a clear and strong style. You just have to dare and really want to do it. If ‘All Quiet Front’ can add a little bit to the feeling that we can do anything we set our minds to, that would be an incredible honor.”
