the minister Alexander of Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF), released another 130 people arrested for anti-democratic acts on January 8, when the headquarters of the Three Powers was invaded and vandalized, according to AgĂȘncia Brasil.
This time, all those released are men. This is because Moraes has already completed, last week, the analysis of all the requests for bail made by women. In all cases, the releases received the favorable opinion of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PGR).
According to data from the Supreme Court, 1,014 people arrested for anti-democratic acts have so far been released, including 407 women. Another 392 people remain in prison, including 82 women.
In the case of those who were released, Moraes applied the understanding that they had less serious conduct and did not pose a threat to the course of the investigation, being able to respond to the complaint in freedom, according to AgĂȘncia Brasil.
Most of the people released have already been reported PGR. In all, to date, the prosecution body has charged 919 people with instigation to commit crimes and criminal association. Another 219 people will answer for more serious conduct, including qualified damage, violent abolition of the rule of law and coup d’Ă©tat.
All defendants have already been advised to present a preemptive defense. The PGR also did not offer the detainees a non-criminal settlement, as it understood the measure would not be possible in cases involving attacks on the democratic rule of law.
All persons on bail must report within 24 hours in the region of residence, having to report weekly. Furthermore, everyone’s passport must be canceled and any authorization to carry firearms suspended.
They are also prohibited from leaving the house at night and on weekends, as well as not being able to use social networks or get in touch with other suspects.
Operation Damage to the Homeland
The Federal Police has already carried out several phases of Operation Lesa PĂĄtria, in which the objective is to identify individuals who have participated in, financed, omitted or encouraged attacks on the headquarters of the three branches of government.
Suspects of participation and financing are being investigated for various crimes. They are: violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’Ă©tat, qualified damage, criminal conspiracy, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of specially protected property.
