According to the state company, the new indications are ‘integrative’ and do not cancel the previous ones; the government has also nominated four names for the Audit Committee
RIO – A Petrobras announced on Wednesday the 15th at the market that he had received a new letter from Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) with new directions from Unit to the Board of Directors (CA) and the Tax Council (CF) of the company. According to the state company, the three new indications to the CA are “integrative” in nature and do not cancel the previous indications.
The three new names, which join the list of eight already sent, are: Renato Campos Galuppo; Anelize Lenzi Ruas De Almeida; and Evamar José dos Santos. In fact Material sent to Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) there were no brief resumes of the candidates, as is the custom.
“At the request of the MME, these appointments must be evaluated by the competent bodies of the company so that, if impediments are identified that prevent the continuity of one or some of the other candidates indicated above, replacements are promptly made, without delay during the meeting” Petrobras informed.
In practice, therefore, MME has sent Petrobras backup calls for the eight already sent in case of any impediment. As reported by Stadium/Broadcastthe People’s Committee (COPE) of Petrobras meets this Thursday 16, to begin evaluating the eight names already indicated.
According to sources, at least three of them – Pietro Mendes, Bruno Moretti and Sérgio Rezende – have expressed reservations on the indication in the internal government opinions, which guide Cope’s analysis. The former two to hold positions in the federal government and the latter to be the leadership of the party, which is prohibited by State Lawreproduced in the Articles of Association of Petrobras.
Three more – the president himself Jean Paul Prates, Vitor Saback and Suzana Kahn – would have favorable opinions. The last two – Eugênio Teixeira and Efrain Cruz – would not have had the complete documentation sent to the company and, for the moment, cannot yet be evaluated by Cope.
Cope’s report, however, is advisory in nature and may or may not be followed by the current Council in assessing names. Even if the collegiate chooses not to approve the names, they can be approved by majority vote in the assembly and subsequently sworn, as was the case under the government Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The sending of new names by the MME therefore denotes the government’s attention to the rules of governance or the accommodation to the political arrangements that have marked the succession in the state-owned company.

The CF nominations will also be presented to the body of shareholders at a meeting scheduled for April 27.
