On World Sleep Day, a study reveals that quality sleep is better than sleeping many hours, analyzing a person’s quality of life

Why is sleep quality so important for the body?
Published in scientific journal Plo One, the study on the importance of sleep quality was conducted by researchers at Charles University in the Czech Republic. During the research, the team followed sleep characteristics and collected blood samples from more than 4,500 people between 2018 and 2020.
“Although the amount of time we sleep matters, people who have better quality sleep also have better quality of life, regardless of sleep time and duration,” the authors say in the paper. Isn’t there a minimum number of hours to sleep?
However, one of the limitations of the study is that the authors did not define what the minimum sleep requirement would be, since it most likely exists and without this basis, sleep quality will have little importance for an individual’s quality of life. . In the questionnaires, sleep duration was fairly complete, with the lowest response score being 3.5 hours. Meanwhile, the longest time was 13.4 hours.
In contrast, the authors reveal that the average number of hours slept by Czechs is 7.5 hours per night, but volunteers do not necessarily fall into this number. The answer to the question, perhaps, deserves to be investigated in future research.
