Online cinema KION announced the date of the premiere of the mystical thriller by the Yakut director Kostas Marsaan “Detector” with Ekaterina Vilkova and Kirill Kyaro in the lead roles. The picture will be available to subscribers of the service in a week, on March 30. The production of the tape was carried out by the Producer Center of the Film Studio. M. Gorky with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The plot tells about Victoria, a former operational officer who is getting used to a normal life with her beloved psychologist husband Roman. After an attack by a criminal in the service, she cannot have children, therefore, together with her husband, she takes 6-year-old Dasha from the orphanage, whose parents died in a fire. The girl is severely traumatized psychologically, and in her strange drawings, Victoria sees the victims of the killer, whom she never managed to arrest.

The heroine wants to find out exactly what Dasha knows, and finally catch the criminal. While Victoria grabs any clues and conducts her own investigation, Roman tries to make out the signals of the child’s psyche. But the girl behaves extremely secretively and aggressively, tears children’s toys to shreds, and gradually the man loses control over himself …

For Costas Marsaan, this is the third full-length work. His debut “My Killer” (2016) was shown at the International Asian Film Festival and the Khanty-Mansiysk Film Festival “Spirit of Fire-2017”, where the film received a jury prize. Marsaan’s second work Ichchi (2020) was first seen by critics at the main international genre film festivals: Motelx in Lisbon and at The Sitges in Catalan.
