‘Joker 2: Folie a Deux’: First image of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn on set

Although being Lady Gaga we can classify the look of her Harley Quinn as disguised, it is still a sample of the most realistic vision of Todd Phillips of the characters of the DC universe.

‘Joker’ revolutionized superhero cinema in a way that had not happened since ‘The Avengers’, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy or Sam Raime’s Spider-Man. With Marvel finally showing clear signs of exhaustion and DC demolishing almost everything to rebuild from scratch, it seems that the dark and realistic line of ‘Joker’ that was successfully followed by ‘The Batman’ is the only good way to go.

It is not normal for a villain to have his own movie, but in a Hollywood lacking in ideas, it has become somewhat common. What is strange is that it has a sequel, and we are talking about a film that won no less than the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival (a superhero genre film has never won a major festival) and He gave the Oscar to his lead actor. An Academy Award that was only accompanied by Best Soundtrack, but which was won among no less than eleven nominations.

‘Joker 2’, which is now called ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ is one of the most anticipated films in Hollywood, although we regret to tell you that we will not see it this year. If nothing happens, the DC tape has its release date planned for October 4, 2024, so we still have a year and a half to enjoy it. However, last December we had access to the first image of Joaquin Phoenix, again in the skin of Arthur Fleck. And now, much more important because it was unprecedented, we have been able to see Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.

Without pigtails but with wet hair thrown back, a checkered shirt, a red jacket and, above all, obvious but realistic clown makeup, this is the first image of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. We are talking about a star who would disappoint any red carpet if she went with such a poorly worked suit, but in this new wave of DC darkness, her character’s costumes are realistic. I mean, Gaga’s look as Harley Quinn is a reference to her character in her comics, but also somewhat consistent with that of a real-world woman who’s been driven mad by a well-known clown friend of hers…

In the images we can see her leaving a court, accompanied or escorted by the police through the crowd. The truth is that the plot of the film is still quite mysterious, although we can imagine that it deals with the relationship of both characters, the Arkham nurse driven mad by a patient with whom she falls in love… But we expect more from a surprise.
