Gabigol and Arrascaeta ‘miss’ Flamengo for the fourth consecutive training session

The attacker carries out muscle rebalancing work in the gym, while the midfielder recovers from an adductor injury

Flamengo trained this Sunday morning at Ninho do Urubu and, once again, did not have Gabigol and Arrascaeta on the pitch. While the attacker works on rebalancing his muscles in the gym, the Uruguayan is being treated in the medical ward, with pubic discomfort.

The two have not yet taken the field since the Rubro-Negro returned to activity last Thursday. The two are preparing for the final of the Carioca Championship, even if Gabigol is not worried. The number 10 does the work to stay 100% physically, as he is the Flamengo player with the most minutes in 2023.

OTHER INJURIES ARE ALSO OUT

In addition to Arrascaeta and Gabigol, three other athletes did not participate in this Sunday’s activity. Matheuzinho, Pablo and Erick Pulgar are handed over to Rubro-Negro’s medical department and, therefore, have been left off the playing field. Recovery and physiotherapy work is carried out at the club’s gymnasium.

Bruno Henrique, still recovering from a serious knee injury, is already training with the squad, but is still unable to play. The athlete remains in transition work and is expected to return to the grass in late May when he will be 100%.

Rubro-Negro will continue the routine until next Friday, when they will complete preparations for the first leg of the carioca final. Flamengo’s rival in the instance will be Fluminense, and the teams will take the field on Saturday (01), at 20:30 (Brasilia time), at the Maracanã.
