John Wick 4: Baba Yaga, a new chapter in the saga of the legendary assassin lived by Keanu Reeves, hit theaters last week. The film has already made waves in its opening weekend, opening with an impressive $137.5 million at the global box office.
Buoyed by positive reviews and word of mouth, the fourth installment of Lionsgate’s action series managed to land the best opening in the franchise. It is one of the rare original properties to continue to grow and improve upon its predecessor, in terms of box office receipts. The film has already grossed $73.5 million at the US box office.
The original John Wick debuted to a modest $14 million in 2014, its sequel John Wick: A New Day to Killgrossed $30.4 million as its 2017 opening and third film John Wick 3: Parabellumit previously held the record opening weekend with $56.8 million in 2019. All figures are US box office only.
However, the film was far from disappointing in other parts of the world. At the international box office, John Wick 4 grossed $64 million, debuting at No. 1 in each of the 71 markets it was released in, bringing its global gross to $137.5 million.

With the opening of John Wick 4it is to be imagined that the new film will have no difficulty becoming the highest grossing of the franchise.
With the exception of Shazam: Fury of the Godswhich was disappointing, March was a standout month at the box office, like the releases of Panic VI AND Creed III also established opening weekend references in their respective series.
