‘Avatar 3’ will change the blue Na’vi and show races of different skin colors: this is what they will look like

“Avatar: The Way Of Water” won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and is already one of the highest-grossing films in history, so the third part of this story is already in production by director James Cameron.

Among the innovations that followed were the mystery of Kiri (Sigourney Weaver) and who her father was, as well as a new Na’vi tribe adapted to live in water, called the Metkayina Clan.

Although the Na’vi of ‘Avatar’ were originally supposed to be very different and rare, the design that the public is familiar with is that of blue skin, slender bodies and much taller than humans. But the third movie will change that.

“Avatar 3” will feature Na’vi of different skin colors as a metaphor for our world

In an interview with France’s “20 Minutes” on December 10, 2022, James Cameron confirmed that he has planned a third, fourth and even fifth installment in his saga and that “Avatar 3” will focus on the element of fire.

The director explained why the Na’vi are blue and said that they are already inducted into two different cultures, one representing forests and the other water, so fire will be represented by what he called the ash people.

Now the movies’ producer, Jon Landau, told ‘Inverse’ on March 20, 2023 that in ‘Avatar 3’ the differences between the Na’vi will be shown with different skin colors and there will be at least two new races.

The producer said that “Avatar: The Seed Bearer” (the tentative title of the third part expected to hit theaters in December 2024) will have new habitats, cultures and characters interacting with old acquaintances.

Regarding the young Na’vi, he said that just like the Metkayina who have physical differences from living for generations in the sea, the ash people will also exhibit new features and different skin colors.

‘Avatar 3’: the different Na’vi races and tribes that will appear in the film

The first two ‘Avatar’ movies have only shown a handful of different Na’vi inhabiting the planet Pandora, these being the Omatikaya and Metkayina tribes.

With the third film introducing at least two new civilizations, they will be differentiated by how they have adapted to a different type of environment and build their customs around their ecosystem.

Although it is speculated that the fire race appearing in the third film will have reddish skin, nothing has been confirmed. although since they live near volcanic places, their skin tone is likely to be grey.

In the case of the other new races that could appear and inhabit the planet, it is speculated that some could belong to areas covered in snow and ice, so these Na’vi could have much whiter skin.

Even if there are desert areas inhabited by Na’vi, their skin color and physiognomy could have adapted to these arid conditions and have much darker tones.
