This is ‘The Savant’, Jessica Chastain’s new series, for Apple TV+, about online hate groups

It is inspired by a true story.

    Jessica Chastain has been chosen to star in the new Apple TV + series, ‘The Savant’, centered on a woman who infiltrates hate groups on-line.

    The series is inspired by a true story, originally published in cosmopolitan in August 2019. Thus, will follow a woman whose goal is to stop large-scale public attacks. Can an online hate group be a way to detect potential murderers? The journalist from cosmopolitannicknamed with the same name as the series, ‘The Savant’, used these virtual forums to analyze the violence of the adult men who trafficked them, and to detect possible multiple attacks against other individuals in their communities.

    The writer of the feature film, Andrea Stanleywill serve as a consultant on the series, which also has the executive produced by Chastain under the banner of his production company Freckle Films (as reported Variety).

    Melissa James Gibson will also be a screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer of the project, and Matthew Heineman will be in charge of directing.

    Jessica Giles, Editor-in-Chief of cosmopolitan, will also executive produce. Brian Madden, senior vice president of product development Hearst Magazineswill be in charge of production.

    ‘The Savant’ is Chastain’s last television role after ‘George & Tammy’the critically acclaimed series about the romance between country singers Tammy Wynette and George Jones.

    The ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ actress has also recently appeared in another drama series, centered on a tumultuous marital relationship, starring opposite Oscar Isaac. Its about remake in English of ‘Secrets of a marriage’, by Ingmar Bergman.

    Premiering in 2021, the five-part series follows Chastain as Mira Phillips and Isaac as Jonathan Levy as they They reveal their relationship between infidelities, passionate encounters and unspoken conflicts that lurk below the surface.

    On the big screen Chastain will next appear opposite Anne Hathaway in the psychological thriller, ‘Maternal Instincts’ – a remake from the 2018 French-language film of the same name – and in ‘Memory‘, by Michel Franco, also starring Peter Sarsgaard, Merritt Wever and Josh Charles.

    ‘The Savant’ has not yet scheduled its release date on Apple TV +.
