Prohibited under 16! Before John Wick 4, this non-stop action movie already offered Dantesque battles!

In John Wick 4, Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski set the bar very high in terms of Dantesque action scenes! With fifteen fight sequences spread over the film’s 2 hours and 49 minutes, this 4th opus is terrifying.

With already memorable scenes on the steps of Sacré-Coeur in Montmartre, Place de l’Etoile or in a club in Berlin, John Wick 4 gave us a sensational spectacle.

Keanu Reeves, 58, proved he’s still got some kicks under his belt! And he’s not just beating up the bad guys, as his vengeful fists are hitting the global box office hard.

If Baba Yaga destroyed the action movie with its brutal and ultra-violent fighting style, the 2 works released in 2012 and 2014 were pioneers in this field.

Directed by Gareth Evans, The Raid 1 and The Raid 2, starring martial arts star Iko Uwais, were a turning point in the world of action cinema.

2 opus of rare brutality and violence, connecting the fight with madness and leaving the audience speechless. The first part takes us to the heart of Jakarta’s slums, an impregnable citadel that hides the country’s most dangerous trafficker.

An elite police team is sent to attack a secret raid at first light. But thanks to his informants, the drug lord already knows and has had plenty of time to prepare.

As soon as the task force enters the building, the trap is sprung: the doors are locked, the power is cut, and an army of highly trained men arrives. Trapped in this suffocating building, the police will have to fight their way through floor after floor to have any chance of survival.

As for the second episode, even more spectacular than the first, it offers 2 hours 30 of almost non-stop fighting, and also strongly evokes John Wick 4 and its river length.

Iko Uwais

After a relentless fight to escape from a building full of criminals and lunatics, leaving dead bodies of police officers and dangerous mobsters behind, Rama, a young police officer from Jakarta, thought he would find a normal life again, with his wife and young son.

But he was wrong. He has a new mission: Rama will have to infiltrate a criminal syndicate where the Indonesian mafia and yakuza coexist in a kind of status quo.

As the ruthless killer Judas, he allows himself to be thrown into prison to gain the trust of Uko, the son of an Indonesian crime lord – his ticket to join the organization.

In the midst of a gang war, he risks his life in a dangerous role-playing game, destined to deal a fatal blow to a crime empire.

If Raid is primarily a bare-knuckle action film, it has a large amount of firearms or bladed weapons in its scenes, like John Wick. For those in the know, the film uses several models of weapons, such as the Tanaka M357, KSC Glock 17, AK 47 or the Wingun 4 revolver.

The actors did not put much effort into the fight scenes. It’s a real hit that they exchange throughout the film. Iko Uwais and his colleagues had to learn speed control and force control to add a touch of believability to the action scenes.

Note that more than 60 weapons were used in the second episode of Rama’s Adventures. The manpower is significantly higher than in the previous section!

The many scenes of violence that punctuate the films will lead to them being banned for under-16s in France.
