The feature film Desire Forbidden, by the same director of 365 Days, hit theaters on March 30, establishing itself more as a good drama than an erotic plot.
Closing out the month of March, it hits theaters Forbidden wisha Polish film directed by Tomasz Mandes, also author of the erotic saga 365 days. The poster already shows that the movie is going to be steamy and that audiences can expect plenty of sex scenes. However, that’s not quite what we see on screen. Of course, living up to its name, the film explores nudity and sex, but that’s not the main focus of the plot, which is really all about drama.
Just over two hours long, the text accompanies Olga (Magdalena Boczarska), a respected judge, but who lives in the shadow of her mother’s orders and the whims of her daughter Maya (Katarzyna Sawczuk). One day, in one of the cases she is judging, she meets the Italian seducer Maks (Simone Susinna), a man 15 years her junior who does everything to seduce her.
Thus, without much context, without exchanging a word, the two soon begin a relationship based on sex and carnal desire. It is important to say that this beginning is very hasty, as if the film needed to immediately deliver the explicit scene to keep the viewer. Something useless that weakens the plot.
The relationship between Maks and Olga: lots of sex, little dialogue
From then on, the film builds their relationship completely based on sex and how they have an affinity in bed. But, beyond that, it tries to show how they both complement each other in a certain way, even with financial and social differences.
The problem here is that the text doesn’t provide this. There is no dialogue showing that Maks and Olga are actually getting to know each other. They don’t talk about anything: day to day, routine, friendships, nothing. So much so that the young man discovers with surprise that the woman has an adult daughter, and that he too used to see her.
It is worth saying this twist it’s really a plot hit. But what comes next is a little strange: more sex between the lead couple and Maya portrayed as a troubled young adult who goes out of her way to hurt her mother.
The drama of forbidden desire
if i eat erotic Forbidden wish doesn’t work very well – even if the actors really have chemistry on stage – as a drama, film works better. This is because in reality the plot does not speak of a new couple who have sex anywhere and everywhere, but of a woman over 50 who, despite being defeated by her husband’s grief, by her mother’s orders and by her daughter’s whims, manages to trace the feet, understand your own desire and open yourself to life.
In Forbidden wish, Olga demonstrates that it is possible to fall in love after 50, and beyond: it is possible to have sex, to experience pleasure, to rediscover one’s body and one’s desires. Here comes the premise On a distant islanda romantic comedy by Netflix which also shows a mature woman rediscovering herself.
Another interesting point is that although Maya is presented almost always as a spoiled and irritating girl (which is a bit tiring), at the end of the film it is revealed why she feels very sorry for her mother.
In a touching scene, Magdalena Boczarska and Katarzyna Sawczuk give their all in an emotional mother-daughter confrontation. Although young, Katarzyna, who also starred in Sing – He who sings about his evils amazes AND Fearless – proved to be talented on stage.
Good performances help turn Prohibited Desire into a good movie
If the text of Forbidden wish works well on stage, great credit also goes to the actors. Both the three protagonists (Maya, Olga and Maks) and the supporting actors do not skid and offer good performances. Janusz Chabior, for example, lives with a judge who is Olga’s friend, who, if he had more screen time, would be a good addition to the film.
About photography and soundtrack, please. This is because the director knew how to mix cold scenes, which portray Olga’s drama, with warm ones, used to show sex and moments of happiness.
After all, is Forbidden Desire worth watching?
If you’re looking for a good drama, chances are you’ll like it Forbidden wishbut if you really want a more exciting movie to spice things up, you might be a little disappointed.
Either way, there’s no denying that the plot is good and the performances even better. If you want to give the feature a chance, you can secure your tickets to watch Forbidden wish to the ticket.com
