Ridley Scott is back to the legendary beat and now we get a first look at his latest, Napoleon and the news that it will hit theaters before it hits Apple TV+.
Directed by Scott from a screenplay by David Scarpa, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader. They promise us an immersion into Napoleon’s origins and his swift and ruthless rise to the rank of emperor, seen through the prism of his enthralling and often volatile relationship with his wife and true love, Josephine (Vanessa Kirby).
The film would capture Napoleon’s famous battles, his relentless ambition and astonishing strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary. This all sounds great, but you’ll have to compete Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure in terms of portraying Napoleon.
Thanks to a partnership with Sony, the film will be released in theaters worldwide on November 22, before being streamed on Apple TV+.
