Game of Thrones: After House of the Dragon, a new series about the Targaryens?

While fans eagerly await the second season of House of Dragons, the executives of the American cable channel HBO are already thinking about other Game of Thrones spin-offs. While the list of potential spin-off series projects is already long, there is one previous idea that seems to be taking priority.

According to exclusive sources variety, a spin-off series about Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros is being discussed in high circles at HBO. The project is in its early stages and has yet to name a writer or director, although executives at the American cable channel are said to be actively seeking it.

Variety’s sources indicate that HBO may be planning to make a feature film first, which will introduce the next series. So this crazy project will once again focus on the Targaryen dynasty, which is of great interest when we see the success of House of Dragons.

The planned series will return to the story of Game of Thrones founder Aegon I Targaryen, known as “The Conqueror”, the first king of the Targaryen dynasty. He conquered and united the continent of Westeros (six of the Seven Kingdoms except Dorne) with his two sisters, Rhaenys and Visenia. Their victory is due to their army and their three dragons (Aegon I defeats Balerion, whose corpse we see in the dragon house).

The story of Aegon I Targaryen takes place about 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, so this potential series would go further back in time than House of Dragons, which tells the epic of Aegon I Targaryen’s descendants and ancestors. Daenerys Targaryen.

Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon series are available with Warner Pass on Prime Video.
