According to exclusive sources variety, a spin-off series about Aegon I Targaryen and his conquest of Westeros is being discussed in high circles at HBO. The project is in its early stages and has yet to name a writer or director, although executives at the American cable channel are said to be actively seeking it.
Variety’s sources indicate that HBO may be planning to make a feature film first, which will introduce the next series. So this crazy project will once again focus on the Targaryen dynasty, which is of great interest when we see the success of House of Dragons.
The planned series will return to the story of Game of Thrones founder Aegon I Targaryen, known as “The Conqueror”, the first king of the Targaryen dynasty. He conquered and united the continent of Westeros (six of the Seven Kingdoms except Dorne) with his two sisters, Rhaenys and Visenia.
