Erika, defender of Timão, underlined a decline in quality in national football

Guest of “Arena SBT”, defender Erika, from Corinthians, exalted the growth of women’s football in Brazil. The player highlighted the increase in popularity of the sport and, in parallel, a decline in quality in national men’s football. On Monday night’s show, the athlete gave her opinion on the current scenario of the sport.




Erika revealed that she has heard from many fans who have chosen to support Corinthians women’s football due to the players’ identification with the club, which she says made a difference.

– Men’s football in Brazil is in decline. I liked seeing Edilson, Denílson, Vampeta, Marcelinho, Dinei… What they did on the pitch was nice to see. Touching, dribbling and everything else, and that’s getting lost,” he said.

At the moment, the defender together with the cast of Alvinegro, are the leaders of the Brasileirão of the modality. In recent years, Corinthians has been one of the leading women’s soccer clubs in the country. The “Brabas”, as they are called by the fans, are the current three-time national champions.
