Following the teaser released last December, here is the trailer for The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan. Directed by Martin Bourboulon, to whom we owe Eiffel, this new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel consists of 2 different parts: D’Artagnan in cinemas on April 5th and Milady, scheduled to hit our cinemas on December 13th.
This diptych, which reinvents the swashbuckling genre, is worn by Francois Civil (d’Artagnan), Vincent Cassel (Athos), Romain Duris (Aramis), Pio Marmay (Portos), Eva Green (Miled), Louis Garrel (Louis XIII), Vic. Cripps (Queen Anne of Austria), Lina Khoudry (Constance Bonacier) and Eric Ruff (Cardinal de Richelieu).
Filmed in France, these films are written by Alexandre de la Patellier and Mathieu Delaporte (Le Prénom). The latter noted that this is a re-reading of Dumas’ work, which has already been adapted for the screen more than thirty times.
The story takes the audience from the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, from the slums of Paris to the siege of La Rochelle. In a kingdom torn by religious wars and threatened by an English invasion, a few men and women cross swords and link their fate with France.
