The Mandalore Season 3: Episode 6’s Surprising Ending Explained

Warning, spoilers. It is recommended that you watch The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 6 before continuing reading this article.

Two episodes from the end of Season 3, The Mandalorian takes an unexpected turn in the trajectory of the character played by Pedro Pascal. While this chapter, titled Guns for Hire and directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, is a new side quest for Dean Jarrin, Grogu, and Bo-Katan Kriz (Kate Sackhoff) on the planet Plazir-15, its outcome has surprised the public.

The ending of Star Wars Season 3, Episode 6 turns the tables and pulls Dean Jarrin away from the destiny fans envisioned for him. What does this ending mean for the future?

For Mandalore Quest

After investigating the dysfunctional droids of Captain Bomber (Jack Black) and Duchess (Lizzo) on the planet Plazir-15, Dean Jarrin and Bo-Katan locate the Mandalorian corsair ships of Ax Woves and his group, which they no longer recognize. Bo-Katan’s authority.

However, the latter explains that time is the unity between the Mandalorians, especially since he and Dean learned that the Mandalore was not toxic and that it could be returned. Above all, Bo-Katan is favored by the Armorer, who sees him as a guide to a new era of Mandalorians.

Bo-Katan told him that he had seen a mythosaur in the living waters of Mandalorian, and for the armor it was a sign: “When you walk the Mandalorian road, you will see many things. This is the road.”. And the Armorer told the clan that Bo-Katan was the guide that would lead them to Mandalore.

But when Bo-Katan asks the Mandalorians on Plazir-15 to follow him, one of them, Ex Vows, fiercely opposes it, reminding him that only a Mandalorian with the Black Lightsaber can claim the throne of Mandalore. In addition to being a master of precious weapons, Dean Jarrin.

And there, changing the situation, Dean Jarrin explains that Bo-Katan defeated the enemy that defeated him on Mandalore. He invents a robotic creature that captures him and takes the Black Lightsaber. To him, and now to the other Mandalorians, Bo-Katan is the rightful owner of the Dark Lightsaber and can rule Mandalorian.

This sudden twist surprised and disappointed some fans who were already tired of the speed at which the main plot of this season 3 of The Mandalorian is moving. This new “side quest” is missing a major new element of Dean Jarrin’s story, which has upset some viewers.

Translation: “What exactly is Dean’s purpose now? The fact that he had the Dark One might mean something and now he doesn’t have it. Razor Crest? Gone. Bescar’s business? Gone. Grogu is back “He rejoined the clan. Bo-Katan is now the leader. So is his sole purpose now to follow her?”

Translation: “I just realized that there are only two episodes left in season 3 and that we have next to nothing about Dean. Nothing about his character, no information about his past, no idea of what he wants…just secondary. Characters.”

What is the future for Dean Jarrin?

Admittedly, two episodes from the end of The Mandalorian Season 3, one might wonder which direction creators and producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s Dean Jarrin will prefer. For his part, Bo-Katan gets what he wanted.

He reclaims the Black Lightsaber and forces the other Mandalorians to join his ranks in taking back Mandalore after Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) institutes the Great Purge. Therefore, it is he who will have the power to unite all Mandalorians and take back their planet.

Will he be able to rally all the troops by the end of the season? Nothing is less certain because there are Mandalorians all over the galaxy and it could take some time. But thanks to the Ax Woves team and their impressive fleet, the company may be faster than expected. In addition to many Mandalorian corsair ships, the group has a giant Imperial cruiser.

What should we prepare against any enemy, including Moff Gideon, who managed to escape from prison, and what we should quickly see at the end of the season of the Star Wars series. But then Dean Jarrin in all of this?

Now that he’s reclaimed his place with his family—and reunited with Grogus once again—Dean Jarrin no longer has a main quest. His closeness to Bo-Katan and his loyalty to the Mandalorians inevitably leads him to help the group regain control of Mandalorian.

Many fans thought that Dean Jarrin would be the new leader of Mandalore this season because he had the Dark Lightsaber. So it won’t be. His only “mission” is to protect Grog from the Empire.

Although he underwent Jedi training with Luke Skywalker and now follows the rules of the Mandalorian faith with his Bescar armor slowly forming, the fact remains that he longs for the dark forces.

We can expect Moff Gideon to once again try to capture Grogu to continue his cloning experiments with Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtah), who we saw again in episode 3 of this season of Star Wars.

We’re still hoping for higher stakes for Dean Jarrin in The Mandalorian Season 4, which has already been written but has yet to be officially announced, unless Jon Favreau and Dave Fillon decide otherwise. After all, the title of the series can nominate any Mandalorian and take pride of place…

That’s why the show can focus on multiple characters at once and not just stick to Dean Jarrin. Are we already coming to the end of the adventures of the hero played by Pedro Pascal? We’ll have to wait for the last two episodes of Star Wars Season 3 to find out what the future holds for The Mandalorian.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is streaming now on Disney+.
