Alien Quiz: If you’re a true fan, you’ll do more than 7/9!

They are the four directors who have had the privilege of bringing to the screen one of the six films in the Alien saga since the first opus, released in 1979, until the last, Alien Covenant, released in 2017.

Of course, it was Ridley Scott who launched this franchise in the late 1970s, revolutionizing the genre of science fiction and horror films with a space camera that strongly marked the society of the time.

A masterpiece that probably wouldn’t have been possible without the fundamental contribution of Dan O’Bannon to the writing and especially the magnificent designs of the Swiss artist HR Giger, of course without forgetting the performance of the main actress, Sigourney Weaver.

It is a very young James Cameron, crowned with the success of The Terminator, who after seven years will take on the difficult task of taking up the torch with the return of aliens. The second film, abandoning the atmosphere of suspense and mystery of the previous film, will give way to more action, moving the saga towards the war film genre, an innovative approach to the science fiction film at the time.

The third film entrusts the thirty-five-year-old filmmaker, who is making his first feature film there after signing numerous music videos for artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna and George Michael. The up-and-coming director who signed on after the summits of Seven and Fight Club is of course David Fincher.

French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet would be responsible for the next film, Alien, Resurrection in 1997 before Ridley Scott would finally return to the helm some fifteen years later with two new films: Prometheus and Alien Covenant.
