Mia Goth is having a great time. Among the successes of her character in Ti West’s horror films (a trilogy set in the 80s, Maxxin filming has just begun) and his role as a scene-stealer in overflowing pool, is in demand and crushes it. Which naturally put her on Marvel’s radar, and she landed a role Lama in front of Mahershala Ali.
This being a Marvel film, there are no details yet on her character, nor do we know if she’ll be on the heroic side, villainous side, or somewhere in between.
Ali will play protagonist Daywalker, a human-vampire hybrid thanks to his mother being bitten and killed by a leech during childbirth. A staple of Marvel comics since the 1970s, he was brought to the screen by Wesley Snipes in three films before the MCU even existed.
This Lama had some development issues: Original director Bassam Tariq left the film due to scheduling and script issues, but has since hired Yann Demange to direct and Michael Starrbury to rewrite the script.
If everything goes well, Lama The theatrical release is scheduled for next September.
