Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G goes through DXOMARK before arriving in Brazil

Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus passed the camera test on the DXOMARK specialized portal, before eventually arriving in Brazil

About six months after its launch in China, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus passed the detailed DXOMARK portal camera test. The device, which could soon arrive in Brazil, has produced results considered “appreciable” by specialists.

The device stands out in the camera set, mainly due to its 200MP main sensor. However, it also has 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro.

This set was able to place the device in the 75th position of the overall DXOMARK ranking, along with models like the Xiaomi 12 and the One Plus 8 Pro – that is, at the level of recent flagships. Furthermore, his final score of 113 is considerably higher than the Redmi Note 11 Prowhich ended with 78 points.

Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G is fine outdoors, but there are caveats

Among the points DXOMARK praised is the level of exposure of the photos, which proved to be accurate in most situations. In environments with good light conditions, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus was able to deliver satisfactory results, with a high level of detail and low noise. The autofocus was praised for being “quick and accurate”.

In dark places, the wide dynamic range and white balance were also cited as plus points.

On the other hand, the autofocus itself was considered slow in specific situations, such as high-contrast or dimly lit scenes. These conditions also caused unwanted image effects such as ghosting.

The ultrawide camera was also criticized by DXOMARK, who noticed a lot of distortion in the images captured by the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus.

Videos have decent stabilization but lose detail

In video, the smartphone has had some advances in image stabilization. However, there is still room for improvement, as it is possible to feel the movement of footsteps, for example when walking.

Furthermore, a loss of detail was noted, as well as a certain instability in relation to the exposure of the videos.

The contents recorded with the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus can be seen in the videos above, while the photos can be seen on DXOMARK website.
