Ludovic Bernard came up with the idea of ​​a sequel to 10 Days Without a Mother while filming this comedy, which was released in February 2020 (and was a huge success in cinemas with almost 1.2 million admissions). With Frank Dubosk, the director quickly asked himself what he could tell the story to continue, and where he could take this whole family:

Ludovic Bernard and his team filmed in Courchevel, the famous winter sports resort of Savoiere. The director recalls: “Filming in the mountains is not particularly difficult, especially since we all live in the same place. The only difficulty was the weather, which we had to carefully study every day. We had to juggle its limitations, change the shooting days. Because I wanted the sun and the blue sky on the screen, it was perfect And sublime conditions for being in the mountains.”

In this sequel, Antoine never fails to say that he is unemployed. The character is really exposed to the social pressures that those who have lost their jobs must face. Ludovic Bernard entrusts: “To avoid this feeling of humiliation, he never actually says he’s unemployed, but works remotely, a notion that has become the source of a joke – ‘more in front of the TV than work’ – and which we have fun with.”

“Having a job is also a source of satisfaction, it’s good for the ego. When you have to leave, I talk about it because I love my job and I’m happy, it’s obviously difficult Antoine doesn’t have these feelings anymore. He really wants to find them again, but we can see that he wants revenge. Our point is that we want to see Antoine suffer, but we also want “he’s struggling, let him come back positive.”
