Axel’s (Thomas da Costa) past and the secrets of the institute’s students have had some unexpected narrative arcs, and while Claire is currently going through an existential crisis that worries everyone close to her, what will the next few weeks hold. Ready for us to start here?
Sarah Farahmandi, producer of the successful TF1 cooking soap opera at this weekend’s Canneserie, took us back to the highlights of Here It All Begins Season 3 and gave us some revelations about upcoming intrigues that will be especially noteworthy. With the return of two iconic characters, new turbulence in the Axel-Jasmine pairing and the subsequent love triangle between Anais (Julie Sasost), Lisandro (AgustÃn Galiana) and Theo (Khaled Aluachi).
Don’t forget to let us know about the summer arc, which is a must-have for where it all starts, and the arrival of a new promo that is expected to start the school year. even a little earlier.
AlloCiné: How do you rate the start of this third season, which started very strongly with the entrance exam and the arc surrounding Anais’ secret?
Sarah Farrahman (Producer): This is a season where we’ve tried, and I think we’ve managed to take the best of the first two: that is, the diversity of season two, in the themes that could be discussed, in that the arches weren’t really the same, and that red thread that May exist in the first season, after the death of Augustus. Who will replace him? Who will be the head of the institute?
And this year, with the circle bringing in mysteries and consistent character revelations, that was a bit of a common thread in Season 3, and I think it was a lot of fun. Even if I know that the circuit was able to destabilize a little from the beginning, because it really came out of the serial codes. But it was important and necessary after more than 500 episodes. Today we get a very good balance from all this.
One of the highlights of season 3 was the revelation of Axel’s parentage, revealing that he was the son of Auguste Armand, not Teyssier as he had always believed. Is there a secret you’ve been keeping in mind since last year’s Thomas & Costa presentation?
There is no way. I would like to tell you that we knew this a year before, but we really didn’t (laughs). We wanted to create an arc around Axel’s character that was more sensitive, more moving than we’ve seen before. We thought a lot and wondered what the deepest foundations of it all began here, telling ourselves that it had always been a rivalry between two families, the Teyssiers and the Armands. And we can bring them together through this character and this mystery. It was too nice without it (laughs).
Currently in the series, the Teysiers and Armands have made a truce, we are at peace. will this last
may continue. After that, what I can tell you is that in Summer Ark we will continue to explore these relationships.
Catherine Marshall We were recently told that these revelations about Axel, which implies that Auguste was having an affair with another woman around the same time as his story with Claire, are contributing to the burnout and depression that plagues the chef. Guino in the present ark. do you confirm
Claire’s burn comes down to many things. There is already professional fatigue, because it is someone who gives a lot to his work. There are these revelations, too, though, as she realizes that everything she’s built her love and family life on was a dream. And then the betrayal of Clotilde two years ago, so that the leadership of the Institute returned to Teyssier, was a bit of a straw.
was a side “Is there a part of my career and my life that is a little quiet?”. Because even with Louis, things are rarely easy for Claire.
Have you been wishing you could talk about the mental strain that it all starts here for many chefs and especially female chefs in the world of gastronomy?
We really asked ourselves how to deal with burnout, which affects so many people and especially in the culinary world. We’ve talked a lot about the pressure adults put on themselves. And it’s true that we wanted to rewrite Claire’s character. Especially since she is a woman who seems so strong, so invincible that we didn’t expect that. The authors could have subtly introduced everything we’ve written before, which also helped it.
But the trap we’ll try not to fall into is the way it comes back, as you’ll soon learn. We didn’t want to tell Claire “Treat me and you’ll be back in four months”. It’s how she finds herself that will bring her back, if not her, love of cooking. This is what you will see soon.
And that’s the ark that also leans on Amber, right? Will his past be resurrected?
Yes, Ambre (Claire Romain) will be too. We wonder if he is the reason Claire disappeared. So, the secrets about him will definitely be revealed.
Will other social topics be covered in the series in the coming weeks or months?
Yes, there will be another social issue, but I can’t say who it will be about. We are on the girls’ brigade there. Next, we will focus on one of the topics that fascinates us the most: the Lisandro-Anaïs-Théo love triangle. This will be followed by Ark, which will focus on a half-family, half-social theme. In June, we will obviously have the last exams of the year. It’s not a big scoop, it’s partial in June!

You were talking about Theo and Anais. We get the impression that every time Theo is in love with someone, he is on fire both in the series and in society. His love life gives way to small passions. Is this a character that authors like to write a lot for?
It is already beautiful, it is intense, it releases something. He is a romantic hero in the literary sense of the term. He is a man who gives everything to his relationships, who is ready to move mountains for the woman he loves. He lets it go and has a pretty impulsive thing that he has in the kitchen, with the brigade, in his relationship with his father. It makes for powerful love stories. These are not necessarily the stories we want to have in life, but they are the stories we like to show on screen (laughs).
Julie Sasost and Khaled Aluachi had little interaction on screen before this arc. Was their chemistry surprising to you?
There is no way. We were very confident from the beginning. We told ourselves “These two are really good at playing characters that seem a little reserved, but once they’re very emotional, it’s all over the place.”.
As for Anais, we saw that at the beginning of her relationship with Lysandro in The Ark, centered on her secret involving her brother. We know that these are sensitive individuals who, at first glance, can change us. That’s what we said “If we put the two together, it’s crazy”.
Marta’s Return (Sarah FitzgeraldWill he arrive in early May to thwart Anais and Theo’s rapprochement?
It is not impossible. Maybe a love triangle will turn into a love square, we don’t know (laughs).
Marta returns to the Institute to see Charlene, to see her brother, she still has a connection to the Institute. We know she went to cooking school because Joachim said at Christmas that he had to accompany her to pay for her tuition. So what did this culinary school deliver? Where is he in his career today? How does he envision the future? These are the topics we will discuss.

The arc surrounding the mystery allowed us to learn more about Enzo, while a few months ago we learned that his real name was not Enzo Lopez. Was this all planned a long time ago?
We wanted to explore Enzo’s (Azize Diabate) past for a long time, because we don’t know where he comes from, we don’t know who his parents are, and how he developed his love for cooking. We wanted to keep his identity a secret, but not necessarily go any further in our thinking.
And then we wanted to play identity theft and tell why one of our characters had to change their identity. We did a bit with Lionel in his restaurant, but it was in a comedy mode, it ended well, there was no mystery behind it. But the idea of a big secret, without going into surgery in Colombia (laughs), intrigued us. So everything came together and we went to Enzo.
Can you confirm this? Nicholas Anselmo Will he be back as Elliot soon?
absolutely. Anyway, it’s already out on the networks. Elliott is back on screen soon because he just has to pass his final exams for the year. That was the deal with Teysier. Well, he will be back shortly before the exams.
Will the Axel-Jasmine couple be shaken up again after Axel and Amber’s past adventures are revealed?
There will be turbulence between Axel and Jasmine (Zoe Severin) due to the end of year exams. Axel will be under too much pressure from Teyssier and Clotilde. We remember Clotilda with Jeremy, who was not gentle. We know Tayce’s demand for her children. This is the second time for Axel. They tell him “You’re Armand, you’re Auguste’s son, so you’re valedictorian or nothing”.
Axel is a good student, but not at the level of Ethan or Samia. So he’s definitely going to be under some pretty crazy pressure and he’s going to leave a lot for Jasmine. Besides, it will be when they turn one year old. It really will feel like the last wheel on the wagon. Jasmine has incredible cooking skills, she needs a little less revision, and she doesn’t realize that Axel doesn’t have the same level.

Since Zacharias, there has not been a new recurring teacher. Here it all begins. Thinking about hiring a new permanent teacher?
Yes, there will definitely be a new teacher at the beginning of the school year. Both new students and one or two new teachers.
It will be the end of the school year for Hortense, Elliot, Mehdi, Lionel and Judy. Should we wait for departures?
We will have to watch (laughs). There is everything: departures, students who join the master and surprises.
Even if the budding friendship between Theo and Jude is very successful, we see a little less of Jude after Greg and Elliot leave. Can we hope that he will be allowed a love story soon?
It is very possible that there will be a love story for Judah (Galaad Kenuillere) next year, we really want it. But admittedly, we thought that if we imagined a love story for him too quickly, he would be compared to Greliot, whatever. We would be our own murderers (laughs). We wanted to position him beyond Eliot, that he exists in an institution, that we remember his crazy talent, that we discover new friendships, that he escapes the reason for which he came.
Are you already working on the new promo we’ll reveal at the start of the school year?
Yes, considered. There will be many profiles. Some will be associated with historical figures, such as this year. And I can tell you we’ll be discovering some new characters this summer. A bit like Ambre and Solal two years ago.
We repeat the summer internship within the institute, which will be led by Salome (Aurélie Pons). And within this course we will have students who will pass the competition. Will they succeed? I myself, at the moment, do not know yet.
