Victoire makes a major discovery
At the Montpellier pre-trial detention center, Victoire visits Lisa and informs her that Benoit tried to intimidate Amelie. Faced with her cousin’s concern, Victoire reminds her that a killer never attacks children, much less his victims. According to him, Benoit is just playing on their nerves. Only Lisa fears that Amel and Victoire are in danger.
To reassure him, Victoire adds that the entire police department is on the case, and that Georges regularly gives him news of the investigation. However, this is not enough for Liz, who pleads with him to ask his colleagues to put him under police protection or better yet, to take the car and hide until the police turn him in. Knowing that this is impossible, Victoire is convinced that they will arrest him.
Meanwhile, Georges and Karim question Benoit. Indeed, they now have testimony proving that the SVT professor was indeed absent for more than an hour when he was supposed to eat at Spoon last Thursday. But Benoit, who has an answer for everything, specifies that he went to get some fresh air between the two copies to make amends and called the customer service of his mutual insurance company, whose address has not changed.
As the police find it hard to believe him, Benoit says that he is not the killer they are looking for. Moreover, he notes that he underwent a DNA test that officially cleared him. Although he has cooperated so far, his patience has its limits. Therefore, he calls on the investigators to stop, otherwise they will file a complaint.
Afterwards, Georges goes to the hospital to inform Victoire of the progress of the investigation. Because Benoit is so meticulous, he knows they won’t be able to bring him before the judge. Indeed, his DNA did not match any of those found at the crime scene. Although he does his best to turn it around, Georges unfortunately only has a few pieces of evidence at this point. He also explains to Victoire that Benoit has always lived in the region where Argenteuil’s monster operated, and that the killings stopped every time Letelier was forced to retreat. In particular, during hospitalization with leukemia.
At the spoon, Georges later meets Benoit. As he stops at his height, the latter declares that he must not hang out in cafes if he wants his investigation to move forward.
At the same time, Emma was called to the police station because Sarah wanted to know if Benoit Letelier had already asked her questions about her personal life and especially her parents. After confirming it, the teenager realizes that the investigators suspect that the SVT teacher is the murderer of his parents. Sarah then replies that Benoit is the prime suspect in this investigation, but adds that they have no evidence at this point.
The young woman then joins Camille at the spoon. When he offers her a short walk on the beach to clear her mind, Emma refuses to be alone. He then carefully picks up the knife before reaching Benoit. Without beating around the bush, he tries to find out why he killed his parents. As he threatens her, the professor swears that she is innocent. Obviously, Benoit manages to manipulate her into explaining to her that the madman who killed her parents also killed her parents. He retrieves the knife, then holds it in his hand to comfort her.
At nightfall, Victoire is checking Benoit’s medical file when something catches her eye. She immediately calls Georges to tell him that she knows how Benoit managed to cheat on the DNA tests…

At the same time, Rafael leaves the house in his car and catches her in the act.
