With the 2023 Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Netflix is set to continue expanding its influence in the animation production industry.
This is evidenced by the programming of the following original productions of the platform, including such diverse and diverse projects that will surely increase the expectations among its subscribers!
The first is the movie SOS Bikini Bottom, a spin-off of the adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants, which focuses on the secondary, but still very popular character, Sandy the Squirrel.
Note that this is not the first spin-off project to see the light of day, as a TV series centered on Patrick the starfish (titled Patrick Super Star) aired in the summer of 2021.
Among the projects that will cause the most anticipation among fans, it is difficult not to mention the film Chicken Run: The Nuggets Menace, a sequel to the 2000 feature film produced by the British animation studio Aardman.
Twenty-three years later, the sequel to the most profitable stop-motion film of all time invites us to see the heroes of the first part, who lead a not-so-peaceful life on a supposedly deserted island, facing a new threat!

Fans of fantasy and magical worlds will surely look forward to Thelma the Unicorn, a film that looks like a fairy tale but is more irreverent than it seems, while fans of Adam Sandler will find happiness with Leo, a musical in which a bored lizard decides. Go on an adventure as he learns that he only has one year left.
Fan-favorite British romantic comedy screenwriter Richard Curtis (namely, Four Weddings and a Funeral and the Bridget Jones trilogy) will helm the Christmas script, adapted from his children’s book series, which he sees building. The crossover storylines heavily evoke his iconic Love Actually.
There is a lot of news in the East

The first visual of the film Ultraman!
In addition to the family film In Your Dreams, which follows two brothers’ quest for the Sandman, Asia has two particularly appealing projects lined up.
Monkey King 1, adapted from a legendary character from Chinese mythology (and the inspiration for the Dragon Ball manga), notably produced by Stephen Chow, a master of martial arts comedy (Shaolin Soccer, Crazy Kung Fu…).
Finally, the famous Japanese superhero Ultraman will be the hero of his own film and whose first visual showcase offers an aesthetic inspired by the new generation of Spider-Man. Note that this new Japanese vigilante adventure will be unrelated to the Ultraman animated series, which is also streaming on Netflix!
