The news from the world of cinema has been a continuous stream all last week, but there is one that is not related to the Cannes Film Festival. As it became known, the Polish-French director Roman Polanski is currently working on his new film The Castle, which is being filmed in the Swiss city of Gstaad. The director invited a very diverse cast to star in it: Mickey Rourke, Fanny Ardant, Monty Python star John Cleese, Portuguese actor JoaquĆn de Almeida and German actor Oliver Mazucci, known for the TV series Darkness, were announced.
Also, two Russian actors will appear in the film – Alexander Petrov. This was told to Variety by another actor involved in the filming – Luca Barbareschi. And the other day the trailer of the future picture was shown at the film festival in Cannes. Petrov also appeared on one of the few frames that got into the network.

The action of the tape, which is described as a “black comedy”, takes place on the New Year’s Eve of the new millennium in a luxury hotel in the Alps. According to the creators, this is “a provocative comedy that shows the naivety, hedonism, corruption and social injustice that lie at the heart of the current world problems.” The script for Polanski’s new film was written by Jerzy Skolimowski, the music was composed by Alexandre Desplat. The cameraman is Pavel Edelman, who shot all of Polanski’s latest films.
Production companies from Poland, Switzerland, Italy and French Wild Bunch. The release of the tape is scheduled for November this year. The film’s budget is 17 million euros. Filming has been going on for almost four months and soon the work will move into the post-production stage.
At the same time, whether the film will reach Russia has not yet been reported.
