Grogu arrives at the cinema: fans have made calculations and Baby Yoda could appear in one of the new Star Wars movies

Grogu, the sensation of ‘The Mandalorian’, could make the leap to the big screen in the new Star Wars movie. The fans, at least, agree.

With a calculator in one hand, and our chronological order of the Star Wars movies and series to learn everything in the other, fans have realized a key detail for the future of the franchise: Baby Yoda could be in one of the new Star Wars movies.

Don’t panic, you haven’t missed anything. The big galactic news is at rest since, at Star Wars Celebration Europe, confirmed three new Star Wars movies. There is no journalistic bombshell to match, but the fandom, like the universe, is expanding rapidly and, like Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, she cannot stop creating.

Thus, George Lucas’ acolytes have come to the conclusion that there is not one, but two future opportunities for Grogu to sneak onto the big screena great excuse to review everything we know about the character and bet on the chances he has of reaching a movie theater.

Grogu: who really is Baby Yoda?

Din Grogu, also known as Baby Yoda or the child (the boy), became an instant cultural phenomenon since his appearance in the first episode of ‘The Mandalorian’ series on Disney+ in 2019.

The nickname of Baby Yoda, affectionate name with which he began to be known in networks, is due to the fact that shares a species with Yoda, as well as a brilliant ability to use the Force. However, no matter how many midichlorians run inside him, years of learning and wisdom separate this little Mandalorian apprentice (formerly Padawan) who is only 53 years old.

And it is that, although we really know little about this unnamed species, they do seem to have some facility to control the Force and very little rush to grow. Master Yoda who presided over the Jedi Council in ‘Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace’ (George Lucas, 1999) was 864 years old and, when he is left to die in ‘Return of the Jedi’ (Richard Marquand, 1983), he had just to turn 900.

Yaddle, the other member of the species that we knew so farwas a council teacher who, like the vast majority of her peers, died in the great Jedi purge that we could see in ‘Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ (George Lucas, 2005) at the age of 477.

Grogu, who must have been born about 11 years before Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi met a slave named Anakin Skywalkerended up arriving at the Jedi Temple at some point only to, at the age of 24, abruptly leave it thanks to a brave Gungan-looking knight.

As we learned in the thrilling finale of ‘The Mandalorian’ season 3, he was hunted by Moff Gideon for his devious plans on armies of beskar-armored, Force-using clones, it was the 50-year-old Grogu who met Din Djarin in ‘The Mandalorian’ and ended up following in his footsteps in hopefully future adventures.

Baby Yoda in Dave Filoni’s movie: too soon?

“Expanding our present, Dave Filoni will orchestrate the war between what remains of the Empire and the New RepublicKathleen Kennedy exulted.

Dave Filoni, the fan-favorite Star Wars scholar responsible for ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ became Jon Favreau’s right-hand man during the creation of ‘The Mandalorian,’ and together, they have produced and created the three seasons, ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and, already with Filoni at the helm, this summer we will enjoy ‘Ahsoka’.

His film will serve to transfer characters from all these series to the big screen and, of course, the Din could be invited.

“Looking to the future, 15 years after the events of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’, Sharmeen will tell us the story of the reconstruction of the new Jedi Order and the powers it awakens.“Kennedy explained about the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy film.

“I’ve always been drawn to the hero’s journey and the fact that the world needs so many more heroes,” the director explained. “It’s what drew me to the promise of the New Jedi Order and immersing myself in a Jedi academy with a powerful Jedi master.“.

This is the film with which Daisy Ridley returns to Star Wars, that is, Rey, the character we met in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (JJ Abrams, 2015), we saw grow up in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ (Rian Johnson, 2017) and to whom we said goodbye as best we could in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ (JJ Abrams, 2019).

And if, as Kennedy says, it will take us 15 years after what happened in the last movie, good old Grogu would be about 93 years old, enough to have reached adolescence? Is it one of the apprentices of the New Jedi Order? The calendar (and merchandising) are on his side.
