‘Queen Charlotte’: this is the cast in real life without period costumes or wigs

If you got hooked on the Netflix series, you are surely curious to see what the actors are like out of the spotlight. Some are very changed…

We know that throughout this year we will attend the premiere of the third season of ‘The Bridgertons’, but the wait is becoming somewhat more bearable thanks to ‘Queen Charlotte’, the ‘spin-off’ of the Netflix series that has as protagonist the monarch that in the original is interpreted by Golda Rosheuvel and by Indian Amartifio in its ‘teen’ version. Shonda Rhimes has done it again and, together with her great team, they have given us an entertaining story, well put together and with a young cast that surprises for the better.

When we tell you the best curiosities about ‘Queen Charlotte’, we highlight the importance of wardrobe and hairdressing in the series. A lot of meters of fabric and a lot of ingenuity were used to design the spectacular dresses that the monarch wears in both eras. Her hair is also relevant. In the case of the adolescent Carlota we see how she wears her afro hair on multiple occasions and also elaborate bows up to the wigs that she begins to wear when she turns years old. We don’t know the amount of time spent on that process, but it must have been long and quite laborious. We also imagine the discomfort of shooting for hours in those heavy, ornate outfits.

Surely at the end of the recordings, the protagonists felt happy to be able to take everything off and look normal. If you can’t imagine what he’s like cast of ‘Queen Charlotte’ without their period costumes, here you have them. Some are unrecognizable…
