Of the next four matches at the Glorioso, three will be played away from home
Botafogo played their last five games of the season in Rio de Janeiro. The matches against Ypiranga, LDU, Atlético-MG and Corinthians were held at the Nilton Santos and the classic against Flamengo was held at the Maracanã. After a period without having to leave the city, the Alvinegro players will now have a sequence of away games ahead of them.
Glorioso played his role and managed to win the five matches played in Rio de Janeiro. The challenge for Luís Castro’s men is to maintain positive results even with the wear and tear of away games. The Alvinegra team travels this Saturday morning to Goiânia and immediately after disembarks in Curitiba for the Copa do Brasil match.
After a sequence of two away trips, Botafogo and Fluminense meet at Nilton Santos for the Brasileirão. After the derby, the black and whites travel to Peru to play against César Vallejo in the Sul-Americana.
Of the Glorioso’s next four matches, three will be played outside Rio de Janeiro. Asked by LANCE! in the Nilton Santos press conference last Thursday, Luís Castro commented on this period of games without away games and projected the team’s next commitments.
– The work is too heavy. We have accumulated a very high volume of travel in its pre-season. We travel everywhere and in bad fields. We have been very tired in recent months. Thankfully, we had that run and caught our breath. I count a lot on all departments of the club to have the players in the best conditions. All my staff will do their best – declared Luís Castro.
