Macaulay Culkin to star in a new film; to know more

Actor Macaulay Culkin has joined the cast of a new pandemic thriller film directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia called “Rich Flu”.

In addition to Culkin, Daniel Brühl was also added to the cast, along with Rosamund Pike, already confirmed in the film previously. “Rich Flu” is about a deadly virus and how people react to it and how far they will go to save themselves.

Macaulay Culkin tries to resume his career, which began in the late 1980s, and which took off when he starred in the “Home Alone” franchise. Culkin was recently cast in Ryan Murphy’s anthology series American Horror Story.

As for Daniel Brühl, it derives from the success of his role as Baron Zemo, from “Captain America: Civil War” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, the Disney + series. Additionally, he played Frederick Zoller in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds”, Niki Lauda in “Rush”, and starred in the Netflix series “The Alienist.” Furthermore, Brühl will be in the film “2 Win” by Stefano Mordini.

“Rich Flu” will have Gaztelu-Urrutia as writer, director and producer. He is best known for directing the 2020 Netflix hit The Pit. The new film explores a scenario in which a strange and deadly new virus is destroying billionaires, multimillionaires and anyone with luck – only the rich. Therefore, the film will show how far people would go to save themselves.

Shooting on the still untitled Portuguese film “Rich Flu” will begin between September and December of this year and no release date has yet been announced.
