The third film of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has managed to break an incredible record that separates it from the rest of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and from the rest of the movies in the world. Fans of some of the best superhero movies ever are in luck.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ has become the film that has used the most makeup prosthetics in historywhen characterizing their characters. In total there are 22,500including the main characters and the extras of the film.
This record was held to date by ‘The Grinch’, the 2000 film starring Jim Carrey. After two decades, the place of honor has changed owners.
At a time dominated by visual effects and post-production editions, the use of this type of makeup has been reduced in many cases, due to its high cost and the fact that it entails a longer development time on set. Nevertheless, the new ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ tape stands out and achieves something unmatched. It will be hard for him to beat this record again. Will you also award the Oscar for best makeup at next year’s gala?
The last release of James Gunn, and the Closing of the Guardians trilogy, it hit theaters in Spain on May 4. Before its premiere, some of its main performers, such as Zoe Saldaña or Chris Pratt, already recognized that this premiere would be one of the most emotional to date, describing it as “an emotional process you have to go through” and, in Pratt’s case, as “a masterpiece”.
Despite the good omens of its protagonists, the film was received with the worst note of the trilogy on Rotten Tomatoes (79%). However, it gave a rush to Phase 5 of the UCM, which had begun with one of the lowest rated films in its history, ‘Ant-Man 3’, which received a 47% score.
The first two ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films had started with 92% and 85%, respectively.
If you’ve already seen the movie and have doubts about its outcome, don’t miss the explained ending of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’, where we’ve reviewed the keys to Gunn’s film. The post-credit scenes are priceless, as always, and we also explain them to you in detail.
