Paramount Pictures released this Wednesday (17th) the second official trailer for Mission: Impossible – Showdown: Part 1, the seventh entry in the franchise. Packed with action, with fight scenes, chases and many stunts, the explosive section shows a hunt for Ethan Hunt, who lives under the skin of Tom Cruise.
Mission Impossible 7 is eagerly awaited by fans for bringing in an iconic scene that Cruise, famous for doing without stuntmen, insisted he do: jumping off a cliff on a motorcycle. In a behind-the-scenes video released by Paramount, the actor repeats the stunt at least six times, this being “the greatest action scene in the history of cinema,” according to him.
After being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Mission: Impossible 7 – Part 1 will officially hit theater screens on July 13, 2023. In addition to Cruise, the film also features the return of veterans Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Frederick Schmidt.
Mission: Impossible 8 – Part 2 is already in development and is expected to premiere on June 28, 2024.
Created by Bruce Geller, the franchise Mission Impossible began as a television series on CBS in 1966. It aired until 1973 and ended up on cinema screens only in 1996, already with Tom Cruise as the lead agent.
