May 17 is known as “International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia”; football insights have held positions in date awareness

May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Today’s appointment has become a symbol of the fight against prejudice and violence against lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and aims to coordinate international events that raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ rights violations. Soccer clubs in Brazil and around the world have manifested themselves on social networks.

Homophobic and transphobic conduct was, according to the decision of the Federal Court of 2019, classified as a crime of racism envisaged by law 7.716/1989. In the decision, the STF defined criminal conduct as “involving a hateful dislike of someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity.” Article 20 of this law provides for a penalty of one to three years’ imprisonment and a fine for those who commit these offences.

Watch some of the demonstrations held by clubs in Brazil and around the world:

It is for the thousands of people who suffer prejudice.

It is for the thousands of people who suffer hostility.

It is for the thousands of people who suffer violence.

For this reason, the flag of this date will always be among all the flags we raise.#FortalezaEC pic.twitter.com/fQaQP2Lc69— Fortaleza Esporte Clube ???? (@FortalezaEC) May 17, 2023
