True to its promise during its May 10 earnings call, Disney will remove more than 50 series, movies, and specials from Disney+ and Hulu that have become outdated (and expensive) to stream. The move is part of a cost-cutting strategy that began after a $1.5 billion to $1.8 billion content loss.

It’s worth mentioning that Disney is just one of many companies that has called cost reduction a strategy, even making it to the list of great technicians who have made huge layoffs (7,000 in all). In the realm of streaming, HBO Max (now just Max) also announced the removal of content last year, focusing on what was canceled.
