Prime Video: Only one week left to catch up on the saga before the prequel hits theaters

In 2012, The Hunger Games set theaters on fire. A film that came at the right time for younger audiences, then orphaned by the Twilight saga that just ended. Because with this new franchise, adapted from the novels – written by Susan Collins and at the time selling 30 million copies worldwide – Metropolitan wanted to achieve the same goal.

Far more appealing than Twilight, The Hunger Games was a huge hit that catapulted a young Jennifer Lawrence to the front of the stage. Someone who had previously only appeared in auteur films, saw her popularity explode thanks to her role as Katniss Everdeen. His salary is a proof of this: if he had received only 500,000 dollars for the first part, he would have been able to negotiate for 10 million GEL for the second part. or 20 times more.

The saga culminated in 2015’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, in which Katniss and the rest of District 13 attacked the Capitol to take down Snow. Although it is the worst film in the franchise in terms of profitability, it allowed the studios to finish the Mockingjay story. But it doesn’t stop at redemption games.

Because fans of the saga are being invited back to the arena on November 15 for the release of The Ballad of the Snake and the Bird. This spin-off, which is actually a prequel, takes place years before the births of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

64 years earlier, in the years following the “Dark Days” period, the first failed rebellion in Panem… Many years before becoming President of Panem, young Coriolanus Snow was chosen to mentor District 12 during the new Hunger Games. Tom Blythe, Rachel Zegler, Viola Davis or even Peter Dinklage are part of the distribution.

To get back into the swing and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the films, you only have a few days left to watch them again. The entire saga will indeed leave Prime Video on May 31st.
