As Kate Shortland’s feature film airs tonight on TF1, let’s take a look at one of those little winks that you might not have noticed if you were watching the film at normal speed or if you didn’t know exactly where to look.

In the middle of Black Widow, when we haven’t seen him since the beginning of the film, we meet the character of Alexei Shostakov, played by David Harbour.

This Russian super-soldier, who infiltrated the United States in the 90s with spy Melina Vostokov (both representing the parents of Natasha Romanov, the future Black Widow, and her sister Elena), ended up in prison in his country of origin. .

After several years in prison, while his two “daughters” prepare to release him, we can find him tattooed on his back as he argues a particularly muscular confrontation with one of his fellow prisoners. It is at this point in the film that you will have to pay close attention.

Press “Pause” for the first time at 53 minutes and 33 seconds and take a good look at the character’s left shoulder (on the right side of the screen, respectively): you can see a woman’s face tattooed with the name Melina. Russian. This is Alex’s fictional ex-wife, played by Rachel Weisz in the film.

A few seconds later, at exactly 53 minutes and 47 seconds, freeze the image again and now look at the character’s right arm (on the left of the screen): there you can read the names of Natasha and Elena, his cover girls, accompanied by two roses.

Could these tattoos of Alex’s former family, suspected to have been done after he arrived in prison, prove that the character really cared about his wife and two surrogate daughters, even if they weren’t real family? We can assume so.
