All these little people find themselves in a lost village where Jewish treasures were hidden. Enraged by the Nazi attacks, the villagers, who want to keep the treasure, decide to resist them. Heinrich and Elsa soon become unwittingly involved in this fraught hunt for gold, which ends in a bloodbath in the village church.
Blood & Gold is a hit on Netflix, but it’s dividing subscribers
A sort of German answer to Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, Blood & Gold is an entertaining spaghetti western punctuated by some effective and wickedly staged fight sequences.
These ingredients have attracted Netflix subscribers since just three days after its release, Blood & Gold is already the most watched in France. He even climbed to the third place in this ranking. Therefore, subscribers became curious to watch the German film, which was divided. While some loved the feature film, others were disappointed.

Comments: Gud movie & action. But it’s also disappointing to see the heroes not mindlessly kill the villain multiple times pic.twitter.com/Lew4usXDft– Separated Soul (@PJharii) May 26, 2023
Translation: “A good action movie. But it’s disappointing to see the heroes not mindlessly kill the bad guys a few times.”
“Blood and Gold” on @NetflixFR
An object that, without complex references, suggests much more 70’s war nanar or spaghetti than Tarantino, with its basic plot, as announced by the title, and its square and very bloody realization.
Pure regressive fun.

Among the opinions of AlloCiné viewers, Deflepard believes that Blood & Gold is “Homage to Tarantino and Ennio Morricone glory. Not bad, but a bit long overall. Two and a half stars.” For his part, Jean-Philippe C sees Blood & Gold “Not a scary Tarantino-style thriller, but one you can watch on a rainy Sunday.”
At the end, Little Pilgrim thinks it’s Blood & Gold “very basic” :
“There’s a bit of fun in the script, but it ends up being unexpected, a monster hunting for gold at the end of World War II. But a very simple script can be enough if the staging and writing follow (hello “Sisu” soon). Except it’s not, The characters are poorly written and not attractive, the plot is poor, the murders lack originality. Without being deeply boring, the film is simply forgettable.”
The movie Blood & Gold is available on Netflix.
