4 years without a black mirror! Why did Netflix take so long to release season 6?

The long-awaited series Black Mirror has not been on our screens for four years. Why it took four years for Black Mirror season 6 to be released on Netflix

If Black Mirror is slowly coming back, it’s for a very simple reason: the coronavirus pandemic. This epidemic and the resulting restrictions were painful events for the world’s population, and Charlie Brooker, the creator of the series, felt that the expectations of the series were exceeded by the news and the crisis that we were in at the time.

So Charlie Brooker asked himself if the world really needed a depressing new season of Black Mirror during the pandemic. He was busy with other projects, as he explained:

“I’m busy with other things. Frankly, I don’t see who wants to watch stories about society falling apart right now. So I’m not working on new episodes of Black Mirror at all. I’m more interested in finding my sense of humor. So I write scripts to make me laugh.”

After the worst of the health crisis, Charlie Brooker has finally invested in a sixth season that would have taken four years to see the light of day, which is now available on Netflix.
