David Fincher says what he finds most boring about making a film

Renowned director David Fincher, who has signed works such as “Seven” and “Fight Club”, met with film students at the Tribeca Film Festival to talk about his creative process. In between statements, Fincher revealed that his least favorite part of making a film is: filming!

I love to try. I love talking to people about our intent as a film, arguing over every word of the script, what it means, how it comes to life in each other’s mouths, the ideas that come out of that process. I love casting a film, I love designing a film. I love sitting down with the production designer, the cinematographer and talking about what we want to say with the look of the film, where we want to get people’s attention, that sort of thing.

But, when the recordings begin in earnest, the director feels that “it’s a pointless step”, underlining his dissatisfaction with this part of the process, and adds that, for him, “in an ideal world, I’d like to do all this preparation and call someone to take care of the shooting and take it to the end… But unfortunately, you have to be there to complete the job.

David Fincher recently directed the movie ‘The Killer’, which will be released on November 10 on Netflix. Discover other successful productions directed by him:
