Emoji Quiz: Identify 8 80s Movies!

The emoji quiz is back! Last week we introduced this new concept with eight films to recognize among the horror classics. Going back a bit to some examples from previous quizzes as a warm up before starting this second edition.

For example, in one question you can find four emojis representing a hotel, a baseball bat, a typewriter, and an axe. Of course you have to think of the movie The Shining.

The hotel actually represented the Overlook, the main scene of the film. We also remember writer Jack Torrance’s typewriter and his disturbing pile of papers containing just one sentence: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

The bat was particularly reminiscent of that other disturbing scene in the movie where Jack threatens his wife while climbing the stairs. And the ax was, of course, the iconic weapon of the film, with that iconic scene in which Jack Nicholson smashed down the bathroom door behind which a terrified Shelley Duvall was hiding.

Another example, perhaps less obvious, this time with three emojis: a fireman, a video camera, and a zombie. Then it became necessary to think about Paco Plaza and Jaume Balaguero’s film. Indeed, the video camera recalled the form of a feature film in this story, where many people were contaminated by a strange evil, and then turned into a kind of zombies. As for the fireman, we should remember that the film began with a report in the barracks of journalist Angela Vidal.

So it’s time to start this new 100% emotional quiz, this time with eight movies from the 80s.
